A gesture is an action on existence. It is intangible.
This is "The Invisible Hand"'s
third visual iteration. It remains a reflection on the collaborative nature of work. A reflection on the perception of the individual, of the collective and of the relational dynamics between the two.
The algorithm created for this iteration is inspired by the idea of fractal geometry and fractality in nature. Fractals are geometric patterns in which the smallest part of a structure is equal to the whole. These patterns permeate all of nature, including our own. Present in our neural branches, in the roots, in the mountains, in the galaxies. They are geometric patterns that allow us to unveil a multiplicity that scales a structure to infinite. An equation that alters the perception of the universe and resonates within us.
This fractal look, when applied to the reality of ML, allows us to look at the relationship between the smallest part — the individual action, and the whole — the perception of the firm as a monolithic structure.The monolithism of the company unstructured to the human dimension’s level. A whole made of many small parts, which are in turn another whole with increasing complexity.
Starting this time from a photographic visuality, literal and representative, we use the data captured by the software of "The Invisible Hand" in real time
to create a fragmentation on the image, by action of the gesture of the work. Reaching almost the abstraction but always maintaining a cerebral image of the structure as a whole, in order to establish and observe the relation between both. This kaleidoscopic
vision of the firm and its collective
of individuals opens up space for reflection not only on the nature of
a firm like ML and the complexity of its connective tissues and collaborative dynamics, but also, starting from here, on the existential fractality itself.
A mathematical, poetic and artistic exercise that makes visible the invisible density of the real, complex, multiple and infinite measure of nature.
In this time of looking inwards, of measuring absence and the weight of presence, we understand that all things are an intricate multiplication of all parts.
This is a representation of that reality.
