All places are their layers of time, people, and ways of existing. It was this tumult of voices and images that attracted and captured the Collective of Two's attention in Eduardo Verde Pinho's work, leading to this collaboration.
The aesthetic of Eduardo Verde Pinho’s work was the starting point for this artistic dialogue. The profusion of images and references, the detail, the journey into the interior of words, the almost infinite number of voices peering from all layers of his work.
The analytical gaze of the machine on the abstraction of the work is the
other moment. A mathematical view on abstraction. A surrender to chance, “Deus ex Machina”, which returns unexpected and familiar landscapes simultaneously.
A fractal and amplified vision of
the work.
In this collaboration between the Collective of Two and Eduardo Verde Pinho, we start from the extensive body of work of the artist, exposing it to the machine's gaze and dematerializing his paintings. Through an artificial intelligence model (SAM), we isolate segments of the works, from which emerge images, symbols, clues, cutouts, thus creating an invisible map of the artist's creative universe. Images that dissolve into space and reinvent themselves, in a new collaborative formula between artist and machine.
A universe in refraction.
We cross the boundary of the material; images and words intersect in the ether, incorporeal, unexpected, free.
From the whirlwind of messages, from the talking walls of the cities, arise the gestures of the hand on the canvas, leaving impressions of memory and desire. To paintings made by so many unknown hands, chance now comes, the lightness of the immaterial, images that reinvent themselves until they become others, other echoes of the same time, territories yet to be explored, an arpeggio of signs, of messages in perpetual motion.
